Bilbao

Bilbao/Bilbo (own language vasc) is the bigest City of the Basque Country with 1.200.000 inhabitants. Was founded in Middle Age (XIVth. C.).

Always industrial center, the City has transphormed its character, specially in the old port area of Abandoibarra, where actually exist one of the most modern urban project, like the spectacular Guggenheim Museum with its metal building, the Congress and the Music Palaces.

The heart of the City remains to be the "Casco Viejo" (Old quarter) where you will find the Cathedral and Saint Anton Church. But specially there you will enjoy every evening, every day of the year the popular "txitkiteo" along the thousand small bars and tabernas taking the typical tapas and delicious local wines.
