From Málaga, its capital town, all along the coast, East and West, a long list of tourist towns and cosmopolitan cities make-up the so-called "Costa del Sol": From the east to west you will find the pinturesque Nerja, perched on a cliff-top with a beutiful cave, and which puts on interesting ballet performances; Torox, with a beach of very fine sand; Algarrobo, Torre del Mar, Rincón de la Victoria, with the Cave of the Treasure. The capital city, Málaga, famous for its gardens and monuments: the Castillo de Gibralfaro, the Arab fortress, the Roman theater, the Cathedral, the Botanical Gardens, the Finca la Concepción and the birthplace of Pablo Picasso.
Further along the coast stands Torremolinos, famous around the world for its tourism infrastructure, excellent beaches and the fishing neighborhood of La Carihuela. Other interesting towns are Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella. Estepona has a age-old fishing tradition and a port of water sports. Finally, at the edge of the province, stands Manilva with its port, solitary beaches and excellent fishing conditions.

Costa del Sol is blessed with a climate that allows one to bathe in the sea almost all year round. The average of temperature of the water is 18ºC (21ºC in July and 24ºC in August), with clean sand, modern beach-bars, good sanitary facilities, beachbeds, first-aid posts, beach patrols ... and the Blue Flags of Europe.
