The mountain of Montserrat ( situated to a 55 kms. from Barcelona City ) is an easily identifiable Catalan landmark with special geomorphic characteristics in a massif of 10 km. long by 5 km. accross, well known as "sea of rocks" or "range of the hundred peaks". Has the ecological environement of the Montserrat Natural Park and its geological hills, sacred shrine and the Monastery, constitutes a veritable symbol of the Catalan identity. At the Monastery ( 725 mts. of altitude ) we shall be visiting the Basilica ( where the famous XIIth century romanesque "Moreneta Virgin" is admired ) with audition of the "Escolania" ( a children chorus considered the oldest one in Europe ).
